Our Story through the
years @TheChapel

22Then Solomon stood before the altar
of the Lord in front of the whole
assembly of Israel, spread out his
hands toward
heaven23 and
said:
"Lord, the God of Israel, there is no
God like you in heaven above or on
earth below—you who keep your
covenant of love with your servants
who continue wholeheartedly in your
way.24 You have kept your promise to
your servant David my father; with your
mouth you have promised and with
your hand you have fulfilled it—as it is
today. 25 "Now Lord, the God of Israel,
keep for your servant David my father
the promises you made to him when
you said, ‘You shall never fail to have a
successor to sit before me on the
throne
of Israel,
if only your
descendants are careful in all they do
to walk before me faithfully as you have
done.'26 And now, God of Israel, let
your word that you promised your
servant David my father come true.
27 "But will God really dwell on earth?
The heavens, even the highest
heaven, cannot
contain you.
How
much less this temple I have built!28 Yet
give attention to your servant's prayer
and his plea for mercy, Lord my God.
Hear the cry and the prayer that your
servant is praying in your presence this
day.29 May
your
eyes
be
open toward this temple night and day,
this place of which you said, 'My
Name shall be there,’ so that you will
hear the prayer your servant prays
toward
this
place.30 Hear
the
supplication of your servant and of your
people Israel when they pray toward
this place. Hear from heaven, your
dwelling place, and when you hear,
forgive.

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge
you to walk in a manner worthy of the
calling to which you have been
called,2 with all humility and gentleness,
with patience, bearing with one another
in love,3 eager to maintain the unity of
the Spirit in the bond of peace.4There
is one body and one Spirit—just as you
were called to the one hope that belongs
to your call—5 one Lord, one faith, one
baptism,6 one God and Father of all, who
is over all and through all and in all.
The Gospel Scripture

He entered Jericho and was passing
through.2 And behold, there was a man
named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax
collector and was rich.3 And he was
seeking to see who Jesus was, but on
account of the crowd he could not,
because he was small in stature.4 So he
ran on ahead and climbed up into a
sycamore tree to see him, for he was
about to pass that way.5 And when Jesus
came to the place, he looked up and
said to him, "Zacchaeus, hurry and come
down, for I must stay at your house
today."6 So he hurried and came down
and received him joyfully.7 And when
they saw it, they all grumbled, "He has
gone in to be the guest of a man who is a
sinner." 8 And Zacchaeus stood and said
to the Lord, "Behold, Lord, the half of my
goods I give to the poor. And if I
have defrauded anyone of anything, I
restore it fourfold."’And Jesus said to
him, "Today salvation has come to this
house, since he also is a son of
Abraham.10 For the Son of Man came to
seek and to save the lost."
